Hello!

My name is Natalia Mikołajczuk.
Books’n’stories is my dream job, which – it turned out – I had to create on myself. I have been a designer and photographer for many years now, but I find the greatest pleasure in looking at photographs. This is where the idea to create Books’n’Stories came from.

Why
photobooks?

I love looking at images. While browsing photographs, I’m able to enter other worlds, so different from what I know and remember Working on a publication is a great opportunity for “voyeur”. It is also a challenge. How to give photographs a new shape? What story to tell?

I am fascinated by how the meaning of photographs changes over time and through the forms they take. I would like us, despite the size of our photo archives, to find a moment to choose the “important” ones and organize them, giving them a physical form.

About me
(a short version)

I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the Art and Design department of UJEP in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic, and at the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava. I took part in workshops and programs connected with photography, narrative and edition, including “Migawki” and ,,Polis(h)PhotoLab” by Association of Creative Initiatives “ę”.

I collaborated with Grynasz Studio (for Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and Red Dot Design Awards), Diskurs Festival 2012 (Giessen DE), Warsaw City Hall, TIFF Festival 2017 and others.

I live and work in Warsaw but loving travelling and meeting people, so I am open to collaboration in any place in the world.
